Standard Multiplication Algorithm (Blank Worksheets) & BONUS PowerPoint
PRODUCT #1 – Standard Multiplication Algorithm (Blank Worksheets)
Do you need to create your own standard multiplication algorithm worksheet which focuses on a specific set of numbers?
With our blank templates you can do the following:
Print off a template of your own choosing
Write in your own specific set of numbers
And let the photocopier do the rest
Our blank templates are perfect for students who need extending. Get your students to create their questions and then swap them with a partner.
Product includes:
✯ Worksheets include a cleverly designed explicit scaffold for the regrouping of numbers during mental calculation.
✯ Blank worksheets for the standard multiplication algorithm. Worksheets for 2×1, 2×2, 3×2, 3×3, 4×3 and 4×4 digit multiplication sums are included.
✯ Worksheets are mapped to the Australian Curriculum
✯ Worksheets can also be printed off without curriculum codes for teachers outside of Australia
Australian Curriculum
Mathematics Year 5: ACMNA100: Solve Problems involving multiplication of large numbers by one or two digit numbers using efficient mental, written strategies and appropriate digital technologies.
Mathematics Year 6: ACMNA123: Select and apply efficient mental and written strategies and appropriate technologies to solve problems involving all four operations with whole numbers.
Resource Type: PDF
PRODUCT #2 - Blank Standard Multiplication Algorithm Templates – A4 Templates and PowerPoint
To make it easier for teachers to use our worksheets in their classrooms, we decided to put our blank Standard Multiplication Algorithms into A4 templates and a PowerPoint presentation.
The combination of a PowerPoint presentation and our A4 templates gives you all the resources you need to explicitly teach the four operations to your students.
Put these templates into a plastic sleeve, then your students have a large blank algorithm that they can write over with a whiteboard marker. No longer do students have to repeatedly copy out the algorithm scaffold, a subtle yet simple change which will save you time.
Product Includes:
✔️ A PowerPoint Presentation with 12 slides for standard multiplication algorithm
✔️Each slide of our PowerPoint presentation includes 2 blank algorithm templates (teacher example and student example) per slide, ideal for explicitly teaching any operation, or alternatively, there is the option of having 1 algorithm template per slide.
✔️ A4 Templates come in either portrait or landscape orientation (depending on the operation).
PowerPoint Presentation and A4 Templates include blank algorithms for:
✖️ Standard multiplication algorithm (2x1 digits, 2x2 digits, 3x2 digits, 3x3 digits, 4x3 digits, 4x4 digits)

Mathematics Year 5: ACMNA123 – Use efficient mental and written strategies and apply appropriate digital technologies to solve problems.
Mathematics Year 6: ACMNA123 – Select and apply efficient mental and written strategies and appropriate technologies to solve problems involving all four operations with whole numbers.
